This is where it began. An initial idea evolved into a portfolio of over 450 gift cards and gift packages for consumers and businesses.
Operating in Belgium since 2018, now offering more than 125 gift cards and gift packages for both individual and corporate customers.

Poland marked our expansion into Eastern Europe in 2024. Today, the offering includes over 100 gift cards for consumers and businesses.
Sweden opened our presence in Scandinavia in 2025. The assortment now includes over 150 mostly digital gift cards.
Norway joined in 2025. Consumers and businesses can now choose from more than 100 gift cards.
Denmark went live in 2025 with over 150 gift cards, including physical Hotel Gift Cards and choice cards.
Switzerland joined in 2025, offering a strong digital range for consumers and business customers.

Back in 2008
The best ideas are born in a bar, right? And it was here that two friends came up with the idea in 2008. The gift card market was just going through the transition from vouchers to plastic gift cards. So, there were opportunities for new concepts, and that is how Jewelcard came about. A gift card redeemable at various jewellery shops in the Netherlands. The first gift card concept was born!
In 2016
It is now 2016. Several gift card concepts have since been introduced to the market and sold at major retailers in the Netherlands. So it is time... for a dedicated platform! Cadeaubon.nl was born.
In 2018
The first international step is taken with the launch of Cadeaubon.be in Belgium.
In 2021
Acceleration of international growth. The first global product, Hotelgiftcard, is introduced, and the UK platform, giftcards.co.uk, is launched.
In 2024
A phase of rapid expansion begins with the rollout of eight new platforms across Germany, Italy, Ireland, Austria and France.
In 2025
Beyond Europe. Thirteen new countries join the group, including Canada, Norway, Denmark, Mexico and Australia.
In 2026
Today giftcards.group operates multiple platforms in 21 countries and offers its own portfolio of gift card brands alongside hundreds of partner cards. All created to help people celebrate life’s special moments.
